Houston, Texas – July 7, 2020
The Global Syngas Technologies Council (“GSTC”), an international association of companies involved in the technology supply for, and the execution and technical servicing of, syngas production and chemical production from syngas, made the decision to shift its popular annual Global Syngas Conference to a virtual webinar format at its recent Member’s Meeting.
The Conference, which had been scheduled for late October in San Antonio, Texas, will instead consist of high-quality virtual sessions. The decision, made by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, will allow the GSTC to focus its attention on hosting a premier virtual event. The exact dates will be announced shortly but will be in October.
“While we are disappointed that we will not be physically together this year, we recognize the need to respond to our attendees’ travel restrictions and to put the highest priority on their health,” said William E. Preston, Executive Director of the GSTC. “We will now take on the challenge to present a premier virtual conference in 2020 by and for the global syngas industry, and we will look forward to getting together again in 2021.”
The GSTC now solicits abstracts for the virtual conference. This year, the GSTC is particularly interested in presentations on advances in technology and project progress featuring: syngas and hydrogen production, renewable fuels, syngas to chemicals, biomass and waste-to-energy, ammonia and fertilizers, and other syngas production and use. Also interesting are presentations on advances in metallurgy, analysis, operability, and safety. Learn more about the 2020 Global Syngas Technologies Conference.
